Did you know that the Humane Society of Atlantic County offers an affordable spay and neuter clinic?

Our spay and neuter clinics are done onsite by NJ State licensed Veterinarians with over 50 years of combined experience doing spay and neuter surgeries. Clinics are held on Wednesday and Friday every week and are by appointment only.

To schedule an appointment, you can fill out our electronic spay/neuter form by clicking here or you can download our spay/neuter form and fax the completed form to (609) 344-0369 then call us at (609) 347-2487 to schedule an appointment.

You can also bring the completed spay/neuter form in during normal business hours to our shelter which is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11am until 3pm to schedule an appointment.

Thousands of animals are seen here every year which dramatically reduces the amount of unwanted puppies and kittens being surrendered to our shelter as well as others on an annual basis.

Surrendering an animal

Our mascot Nation

The Humane Society of Atlantic County wants you to know that its okay to surrender your animal if you are unable to provide for it anymore, sometimes things happen that are beyond our control and by surrendering your pet to us you can be sure we will make every effort to find it a loving home.

All animals are screened for temperament, behavioral, and medical issues prior to being placed for adoption. Any animal exhibiting conditions making them inappropriate for adoption will be humanely euthanized.

The HSAC maintains a no-kill philosophy of never euthanizing for space related reasons. However, if an animal is not adoptable i.e.(age,aggression,health, or behavioral issues) or unable to be accepted by a professional animal rescue organization, we do not keep them caged for the rest of their life.

Beware of organizations that call themselves "no-kill" shelters... While we fit the description of one, we do not use the terminology because it can be misleading if not fully explained. If you have an animal you would like to surrender to us or you have further questions about our animal surrender policies, please give us a call at (609) 347-2487.
